This is the most common question. Turkish Darbukas have a flat, exposed rim with external tuning screws, allowing for sharp finger-snapping techniques. Egyptian Doumbeks have a rounded, smooth rim with internal lugs, which is softer on the hands and produces a deeper "Doum" sound. Both are available in our Darbukas collection.
